The Information that we collect and what it is used for
Sources of personal information
We collect information directly from you, such as when you use the Services or sign up for our emails.
Personal Information collected for coaching
When you engage us to provide you with coaching services or programs, we collect information to identify you when you contact us, to allow us to contact you, and to enable us to provide you with coaching services. The information that we collect for these purposes may include your name, email address, WhatsApp contact (which includes phone number), and depending on your goals for coaching, details about your personal history or circumstances.
If you book a clarity session with us, we will collect information that will enable us to contact you and hold the session with you, such as your email and/or phone number. This information is not retained unless you wish to maintain contact with us (such as if you wish to sign up for our email list or engage us to provide you with coaching).
Personal information collected when you sign up for our email list or a Challenge
We keep an email list for persons who wish to receive our newsletters and announcements. To sign up for our email list you will be asked to provide us with your email address, and your first and last name. This information allows us to deliver and personalize those emails to you.
From time-to-time, we may hold Challenges. If you wish to participate in a Challenge, we will need to collect information about you including your email, and your first and last name to enable us to contact and identify you for the purposes of delivering to you information and updates about the Challenge.
Personal information collected when you visit the ILP website
When you visit either our website, the web servers that we use, like all Web servers across the Internet, log certain information about your visit including your IP address, your browser, and the time of your visit. This information may be used by us or our web services provider on an anonymous basis for the purposes of analyzing web traffic, ensuring the security of our systems and fraud detection. In addition, our website may place a small file in your browser, also called a “cookie” in order to optimize your experience.
Websites and content on the internet owned or operated by third-parties have different privacy policies from our own and may treat your information in a different manner than we do. You may encounter third-party content or websites on our website in the following instances:
When you interact with us through social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or YouTube, we will be able to see your posts and other personal information that you have made publicly visible through those platforms. We use this information in accordance with the expected uses of social media, such as to respond to any inquiries or comments that you may have posted on those platforms. We do not extract or collect personal information visible to us from our social media accounts for other purposes unless we have previously discussed the matter with you and have obtained your consent.
We use a third-party service payment processor, currently PayPal, to allow you to pay for our services online. You may be asked by Paypal to supply certain payment information including, your credit card number, the expiration date of your credit card, and your billing address. This personal information that you provide is subject to PayPal’s privacy statement, which you can view here: https://www.paypal.com/ca/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full
Sharing and transfers of personal information
We do not sell your personal information to third-parties. However, we use certain information technology service providers to help us deliver our Services and emails to you, and these service providers may transfer your personal information to facilities located in countries outside of Canada for processing. For example, we use GoDaddy for sending emails to our email list, Acuity for scheduling, and we may use WhatsApp to hold events or communicate with you. As a result, subject to the privacy policies of those service providers, your personal information may be transferred to other countries, and the privacy laws of those countries may be different from those applicable in Canada. We only use service providers that we believe to be reputable and protect your personal information.
Furthermore, we may need to share your personal information if required by law, such as under a warrant or subpoena.
Storage, retention and destruction of personal information
Personal information kept for email list
We keep your personal information for our email list on an indefinite basis, until you tell us that you would like to be removed from our email list. If you would like to be removed from our email list, you may click on the unsubscribe button located at the bottom of any of our email list emails. If you are unable to unsubscribe, please contact us (noted in the “Contact Information” section below) and we would be happy to assist you.
Please note that the information on our email list is stored separately from our coaching records. Consequently, unsubscribing from the email list will not result in the removal of your personal information in our coaching records, and vice versa.
Personal information kept for coaching; consent
We retain your personal information for coaching while you have engaged us to coach you and for a period of seven years from your last session, after which we will securely delete or destroy the information that we have within our control. Please note that if you sign a coaching agreement with us, there may be additional terms specifying how we handle your personal information.
If you would like to withdraw consent for our collection and use of your personal information, or for us to delete or destroy your personal information sooner, please advise us and we will do so, although we may keep certain records if we have good reason to, such as if we are legally required to keep them or we believe they would be needed to defend ourselves if a legal issue arises. However, please note that if you withdraw your consent for us to keep and use your personal information while we have been engaged to coach you or if you re-engage us after your information has been deleted/destroyed, we will unlikely be able to provide you with proper coaching services.
Security of your information is important to us, and we employ physical and technological safeguards. However, while we endeavor to protect your personal information, no means of protection is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
If you are contacting us by phone or email with regard to your personal information, please note that, for security reasons, we may ask you for certain information to verify your identity before giving you access. The information that you provide to us during the verification process is not retained (other than what already exists in our other records).
